'Be Positive' Art Journal Pages for April and May

I'm still trying to catch up! Looks like I forgot to show my last four pages for the Be Positive Art Journal Project! I know I've said it before, but this is one of the simplest ways to art journal, especially if you're just beginning to art journal (and its one of my favorites!) Put some paint on a page whether its one color or several colors layered, add stencilling or stamping if you want, cut words or images out of a magazine, old book or newspaper and glue them down, add a border with scrapbook paper scraps, doodling with a marker, etc., and you're done. A quick easy journal page that doesn't take too long, but satisfies the need to get a little creative and a little messy.

Liberate Your Art Postcard Swap 2012

I hope your Memorial Weekend is going well!

Just a quick note to let you know about a postcard swap that anyone can join. If you have been thinking about doing a postcard swap, this is a good one! I did it last year and the way that Kat organizes this pretty much guarantees that you will get other postcards back. The only variable she really can't control is the postal service! :)  Its not hard to do, its actually pretty easy. You just have to make one postcard and then have five prints made of it, add a message to the back, send them to her, and she does the swapping and gets five different postcards on their way to you. See the full instructions here. Its always fun to get a little surprise in the mail, and you never know what part of the world you may get a postcard from!

Last year I didn't post about the swap until the registration had already closed, so I wanted to make sure I put it out there nice and early this time. If you've never done a postcard swap and want to, I highly recommend this one! Hope your last week of May is a good one!

Meet Penelope

Here is a picture of my little Suzuki Sidekick, Penelope. (anybody watch 'Criminal Minds'? Penelope is the funky computer chick on that program. Many thanks to my hubby for helping with her name.) Check out the purple leopard seat covers I found online, I think they are awesome!

 And when I went to look for new sunglasses, I found purple leopard sunglasses, guess it was meant to be!

She still needs a new paint job, but it might be a few months yet. I'll show new pics when its done cuz she's gonna get a little 'somethin, somethin' on the outside to match the inside, I can hardly wait! Had the top off once so far, what a blast to drive that way... can you tell I'm happy!?!

I've had quite a few irons in the fire, which is why I haven't posted for weeks. Rummage sale one weekend, a scrapbook retreat another weekend (my first), and then my daughter was home from Colorado for a week, so I was busy finishing up a little scrapbook I started for her two years ago, and I made an altered book journal for her and showed her how to make some backgrounds with paint and spray inks and stencils! whew, I'm hoping to get back to 'normal' by Memorial Day.

Hope you're all having a wonderful spring so far. Just remember, your thoughts and feelings create your life. Think positive, and your life will be more positive. Make sure that what you're 'feeling' are GOOD feelings - about everything - because whatever you 'feel' will come back to you, multiplied. Yes, it takes work, but I believe this and have started to notice the changes in my life, and they are all good. I wish the same for you.

Sometimes you gotta get Wild!

I've been distracted the last few weeks...haven't done much art journaling...I'll explain...

Last fall I sold my motorcycle, a very nice Bright Red Harley, that I just wasn't riding much anymore. After seven years of being on my own bike, I decided it was ok to be my hubby's passenger again. But then I wanted a new 'toy'...fast forward to now and I have bought myself a nice little purple suzuki sidekick. (I just realized that I have not taken any pics of it yet, will show pics in next post!) she needs just a little work, a fresh paint job, and a little 'something-something'... shhh, don't tell, but I'm thinking...purple leopard spots!  How interesting that I journaled this page a few weeks ago (notice the 'leopard spots' in the background), before I found the car, before I found purple leopard seat covers online that are just TOO COOL! and, before wondering how can I get some leopard spots on my car without it looking gaudy?? I'm gonna have to think about this for awhile!! Meanwhile, don't be afraid to get a little wild once in awhile, it feels good!

I jumped right into the 21 Secrets Journal playground this weekend. I always enjoy learning

new tips and techniques and this is the perfect place to do it!

My first ATC Swap!

I just realized I forgot to share pics of the ATC's I received a few weeks ago from the

Doodling Unleashed workshop that was at Strathmore Artists. This was my first ever ATC swap,

and it was kinda fun working with the smaller size.
